| The DeHaviland DH-98 "Mosquito" was constructed primarily of plywood with a balsa core. It was first flown in 1940 and 8000 were built in the UK, Canada and Australia. It was powered by two RR Merlin engines of 1690 HP each; it had a max speed of 415 MPH and a range of 2000 miles. | |
