PRESIDENT'S REPORT         It is with some trepidation that I take up the Presidency of KMFC for 2009-10 as my predecessors have left me with large shoes to fill. On behalf of all members I would like to express our sincere appreciation to the members of the outgoing Committee. Led by Ian Smith they did an outstanding job of organising the very successful events that marked our 50th anniversary year. (See Ian’s Presidents Report for an account of these). Vale KMFC Newsletter One change in the way we operate will become apparent to you soon. The printed KMFC newsletter will be no more. The commitment and time required to regularly produce such a production have now exceeded the resources that even our most dedicated people can be expected to provide. Instead we will use our website to provide the information and news that appeared previously in the newsletter and to extend these in ways not possible in the print media. KMFC Web site Jeff Reeves is our new webmaster and will provide the focus to upload and maintain our website. Many thanks to Ross Boyd who got the website started and provided the base for this development. Remember this website belongs to you and its usefulness and quality will be dependent on the material you provide. All sorts of material can be used, just talk to Jeff about what you have in mind and he will advise you on what to do. KMFC Flying site at St Ives showground As most of you will know the issue of the future of the St Ives Flying Field still remains open, with the Kuringai Council carrying out a comprehensive review of the use of the St Ives Showground precinct. John Nolan and Ric Bonomo are our representatives in these discussions and have ensured that the Council is well informed of our position and needs. The results of the review are expected to be known by the end of the year. We remain hopeful that, for the club, the status quo will remain for the foreseeable future. Above all the purpose of our club is to provide the social and physical amenities that will enable us to follow our passion for control line flying and to enjoy ourselves.
