For quite some time it has been apparent that the current KMFC logo has outlived its usefulness. It was created at a time when the club's primary interest was stunt flying but now it no longer represents the activities of the club.
The club's first logo was a simple two-dimensional drawing of a stunt plane using red and yellow colours.
The next logo drawn in 1997 maintained the traditional colours but had a three view of a iconic stunt aeroplane, Bob Palmer's Thunderbird.
I have drawn up some suggestions for a new club logo with these things in mind:
- Maintain the historical colours but make other colours available that will be a better colour match on club member's aeroplanes
- Maintain the Thunderbird as the logo's aeroplane. Bob Palmer visited our club in 2000 and KMFC's largest circle is named in his honour.
- Make the logo more interesting by making it look as though light is coming from below and casting shadows across a 3 dimensional border.
- Create a design that could also be used for first, second and third place medals.
Once we have settled on a design (or designs) I can put them on the club web site where they can be downloaded.
